<p>I know it says on their application that essays are optional, but is it worth submitting? The essay I would send is about a person who has influenced me.</p>

<p>If it helps, here are some of my stats. Do they seem strong enough to ensure acceptance without an essay?</p>

<p>SAT: 1240 (600 math / 640 verbal) 1830 new scale.
GPA: About a 3.68, but will probably go up a bit after this semester to a 3.7 ish
Rank: top 20%, may go up after the semester. 80 out of a class of about 456
Lots of leadership in activities, 1 AP last year, 2 this year. Decent transcript, Honors and a few College Prep courses. 3 years of French. Work experience.</p>

<p>If you already have an essay and you think it’s at least decent, then there shouldn’t be much harm in including it.</p>

<p>That’s my worry, I’m not 100% confident in it. I regret not choosing a more specific topic.</p>
