Estimating your Physics C (Mechanics) Score?

I was told 33% right on the multiple choice was the amount you needed to get right to get a 3, but is that assuming that you get about 33% worth of the free-response credit, or can you get just get a 3 by just getting 33% of the mutiple choice right and not getting anything on the free-response (that doesn't sound right).

Lets say I got about 15 points on the free-response and my raw score on the multiple choice would be 22 right, 8 wrong, and 5 skipped.

What can I expect when I get my score back?

raw score of about 46, 3 zone.

I'm hoping for a 5, but my range is probably high 4 or low 5 ~_~

lowest, 3, but I did very well on FR

Mechanics... I predict 2 at worst, 3 on norm, and 4 if i get a miracle.

E&M.... I predict 1 at worst, 2 on norm, and 3 if I get a mircle.

For a 3, you need approximately 45% out of 90. For a 4, 60%, for a 5, 75%.

Anyway, I'm really *ed I did the whole 3rd FRQ, but did only half of the other two, *ed away my score on those. Was hoping for a 4 overall, but I can live with a 3, just that my shot for National AP Scholar just got shredded.

75% of the entire test correct for a 5?

49 - 5
37 - 4

The curve is very low (usually)

Earth-dragon has the correct curve

http://faculty.trinityvalleyschool.org/hoseltom/handouts/Scoring%20the%20AP%20Physics%20C%20Exam.pdf

i found this, but i don't know how correct it is for 2006

Hm, I may be mistaken.

49 out of what? out of 80?

I know the 2004 released exam that we did in class, cut off was 49 and 37...I forget the rest.

49/90, everything is out of 90 points because MC is 45 points, FR is 45 points, so you have 90 total points

I hope the cut off is like that ~_~

Test is out of 90.

Yeah, I think the curve may be higher this year, the FRQs were pretty easy, and so was the MC (IMO) [for Mechanics anyway].

Hmm, I agree that the FRQ was easy, but the MC seemed hard to me. I've not taken a practice MC before though so I guess I don't know.

Well, no wonder, I took 4 practice MC tests.

?? Everyone came out of my school sobbing and wanting to cancel their scores all because of the MC....so, I don't know? I was like ~~ T________T

Total flipflop for my class, MC was easy, FRQ was either easy or a mess up. On practice tests I was getting 22-ish on the MC, plus a perfect FRQ (15 points) and I already am near a 4 more or less on the scales of recent years.

I hope that curve posted is simmilar for this year. I think I did okay. I answered 28 and ommitted seven. I got FRQ #2, but had problems with the other two...:( My school found the whole thing to be really hard.
