eTextbooks at Columbia

Hi all. I see that B&N/Nook carry eTextbooks for Columbia classes, and I'm wondering whether (a) lots of Columbia textbooks are actually available electronically, and b) do electronic textbooks really save much money. If there are savings, is it 50% off the hardback price, or are the savings more like 5-10%?

I searched old CC threads and it looks like there are several other vendors of eTextbooks, like Chegg.com and an app called CourseSmart, neither of which I know anything about. A lot of engineering students on the CC threads were saying they like to keep hard copies of their textbooks for reference, but this might not be as important to a humanities major. Some of the CC threads are a year or so old, though, and anything like this is going to change a lot in even one year. Also I'm looking for some Columbia-specific experience. I'm going to guess that most of the LitHum books are available on Nook/Kindle already.

Thanks!
