Ethical?

While reading some old threads in a forum, I found a way to circumvent the University of Michigan application fee. I just apply to UMich Dearborn online (for free) then on the CA, check that I have previously applied to Dearborn and my application fee is waived. Is this ethical or shady?

Why not? It’s not like you’re lying. Save yourself the 65 bucks.

If you say you’ve previously applied, won’t they be looking you up to see if they previously accepted or rejected you?

I would think that the question is meant to refer to a previous admissions cycle. You could call the University of Michigan admissions office and ask them. If you feel uncomfortable making that call, you know that you don’t think it is ethical.
