Ethnicity

Hey,
I am confused. I am Pakistani, from both my parents, but my mother is also a little bit Saudi Arabian. Yes, I am a Muslim...
Should I list my ethnicity as 'Other' or as 'Asian, including from Indian subcontinent'?
Thanks

The expected answer from someone with your background would be "Asian" (that is, south Asian), but you can omit answering that question entirely.

Thank you for that information; it cleared up a lot

By looking at yours and your parents' names, they can tell who you are.

I am iranian/mexican - i had the same issue. I listed my iranian heritage in other, and my mexican heritage as "mexican/chicano american"

When Stanford looks at your application and decide whether they want you to be the 800 lucky SCEA students or not, the only thing they have not done is probably to call you. They don't care what you have written on your application, like they don't care much about your SAT/AP scores. They will get the info they need about you.

They will get less than 20 (on average) students from each state. Don't count that you write one way or the other will change your luck. Above all, applying to Stanford is like crapshoot, nobody knows what will happen, and there is not truth in this, only lucky examples.

ewho has no idea what he is talking about. Stanford does not get 20 from each state. 50 percent of the student come from california alone. i doubt that equals to 20

Sounds like you know more. Stanford got about 50% of total from the states outside California. This is different from 50% from California. There are people from all over the world. Besides, less than 20 is not wrong since they never tell the distribution of their SCEAs. I am very curious to hear the numbers from you, since you know better.
