Etiquette for receiving an award!

Hi everyone, I was recently awarded a scholarship from my school! I will be writing to thank the donor, but I wasn’t sure what the proper etiquette is when it comes to my professors and teachers who nominated me. I was totally surprised by the award and am still not sure exactly who nominated me other than people quoted with their name in the award letter (a few were mentioned without a name). Is it normal to thank the people directly quoted?
I don’t know if this is overthinking it but I’m really grateful that they took the time to write letters for me!

(I guess my question is applicable beyond the music major but I naturally gravitated to posting in here because I’ve been lurking on here forever)

Thank you for any advice!

My daughter picked up several scholarship awards from the her school and sent thank you letters with some personal details like where she finally chose to go and who she was going to be studying with. She also thanked the teachers responsible that she knew about in person, again, sharing details about her future. Let the unnamed persons be unnamed, as they probably have reasons for being anonymous.

Many music scholarships go to kids that aren’t going to be pursuing music as a career. When someone who wins is going to be a music major, it’s especially gratifying to those that awarded it to hear how the money is being used.

That makes sense! One more thing I was wondering–if I’m not going to see my professor over the summer, is it better to send an email or wait to thank him in person?

Thanks so much for your help!

Both: “I look forward to thanking you in person this Fall”

Yes, that’s the way to do it.

Sorry, this is late–thank you both for your help!
