Scholarship - Thank Donor

So I received this scholarship the other day, and in the letter, it said to write a thank you letter to the donor.

Now, this isn't a major scholarship and it wasn't one I applied for (more like an entrance scholarship?), so I was wondering how to write these types of letters.

Is there a template someone can give me? Because this wasn't a scholarship that I wrote essays for and etc., I don't really know what I can put in this letter except things such as thanks for helping me save money and allow me to continue with my education.

It’s the thought that counts. As an officer in an organization that gives several small scholarships every year, I can tell you that we appreciate getting thank you letters. What those letters say is much less important.

Always be thankful and let others know of your thankfulness. This will later transfer to thank you notes for job interviews and other great things that will happen in your life.

When I did my thank you letters, I kept them simple and short but sincere. I started by thanking and saying their kindness will help to fund my education. I then talked about my college for a sentence or two (kind of a way to show them that I will put their scholarship money to good use). In closing, I thanked them again and signed my name.

Nothing fancy but everyone (especially people who give free money) like to feel that what they do is important.

Thanks very much you guys.

Also, one more question, did you type it up on Word or is there something specific that I should use when sending out these notes?

My daughter hand wrote her thank you note to the donor of the trustee scholarship she received. It in she expressed her surprise and delight, thanked the donor and the committee. She also mentioned what she liked best about her first year at college, her summer activities and plans for the future. It was about four paragraphs in all.
A kind person provided her with $3100. The least she could do was put some time and effort into a personal thank you.
She did the same for a $250 scholarship she received last year.

I didn’t type my thank you letters in Word, but you could do it that way. I had thank you cards and wrote a specific message inside. Then I just mailed it to the organization that provided me with the scholarship. But you don’t have to do it the way that I did. Typing would be fine.

My D hand wrote the thank-you notes for the 6 scholarships that she received. She thanked the donor/organization for their generous scholarship and wrote a sentence about her college. They were short and sweet.

Always write a letter or send a thank you card for any scholarship no matter the amount.
