^^^ really? Did you see van Persie? Did anyone approach them for a picture?

I don't know, but I'm sure Arshavin's in tons of photographs with team NED--mostly of Arshavin schooling the hapless Dutch defense.

No, I was in the tunnel underneath and my flight was boarding pronto, so I had to keep it moving.

Italy dominated the game

Yes, if by "dominated", you mean "turtled in cowardly fashion that did not befit so-called world champions".

Why isn't anyone taking off their shirts (Luca Toni, I'm talking to you)
Probably because, inch for inch, he was the most worst player in the tournament and nobody wanted his shirt. The only thing he can do is rack up goals against crappy teams in the Italian and German leagues.

france does not suck. and i dont think they are overrated

France will be awesome again in 2010 when the old guard retires and the kids take over (like Samir Nasri and Kazim Benzema).

If anybody's a hockey fan, Italy's like the New Jersey Devils of soccer. And everybody hates the Devils because they're boring.

italy lost haha. i am hoping turkey will win. i was so happy that they pulled off that win against croatia. sucks that nihat cant play anymore

I don't know why I bother to respond to such a post, but here goes...

Wow OMG Germany's only -750 at the books!!!1 With a 95% chance of winning, that's an average profit of $57.5 for each $750 you plunk on the Germans--Vegas is so dumb!!!11 Free money on the Germans everybody!

An average of odds across betting sites gives Germany approximately a 65% chance of winning straight out and a 23% chance of a draw. In the case of a draw leading to a penalty shoot-out, the Turks have even less of a prayer than in regular time with Lehmann in goal, probably the best penalty stopper in the world right now. So we'll say Germany will win 22/23 penalty shoot-outs, to yield an 87% chance of winning.

Plus I'm a German fan. I inflate the odds of winning accordingly.

I think Brazil is the most talented team but no one on that team likes to do the dirty work.
That's what Gilberto Silva was for. In fact, Brazil's gotten a little too "dirty" and many think they need to go back to their creative and freewheeling days in order to be successful again. Undoubtedly, they're the most individually talented team, with Argentina and Portugal next in line.

Germany wouldn't win 22/23 penalty shootouts against their Junior squad. I'm glad there's people like you out there. Makes fading the favorites a profitable venture over time.

Do I think Germany's better than Turkey? Yes. Do I think Germany will beat Turkey? Yes. Do I think there's any value in backing the Germany PK at -750? No. Do I think Germany would win 95% of the time against Turkey? No.
