so ive lived in evanston my whole life, im right on northwestern campus (live next door to a dorm)
anyhow ive made so many friends from living in the neighborhood and i absolutely love evanston (of course im biased and all)
i hadnt really thought of applying to northwestern because id be right next to my parents, but all my friends there are telling me to apply and i love the school community so much i figure i should give it a shot
but since i live in evanston does this put me at a disadvantage?

No. Residency is not considered in Northwestern’s admissions process. If you like the school and have no problem being really close to home, definitely apply!

If anything it will be better for you because Northwestern has a Good Neighbor, Great University scholarship, and that’s where they replace loans/work study/etc… with scholarship grants. Only Evanston and Chicago residents receive that. The name of the scholarship is kind of funny in your case because you are literally a Northwestern neighbor.

Oh cool thanks for the heads up on that!
