It seems now as if nobody in college just goes for the single major. everybody either has 2 or some even have 3. I know a guy, who was quite briliant at my school who had 4. English, math, econ and CS he also graduated in 4 years,

But why do people feel the need to have 2, as if it is the norm now?

There are plenty of people with single majors. Personally im a double major. I decided to do it because im interested in two areas and it gives me a little bit more structure to what I am doing. Plus it can give you an advantage after college...

At my school, everyone double majors and many double minor. It's just how it works.

I'm triple majoring just because why the hell not? It's not any extra work and all my majors are interconnected and overlap, so I might as well.

"science of Astrology" ...lol..lol...lol... the science?! or did you mean of "Astronomy"...?

I think it depends on the school and such.... when I looked at the list of graduating seniors at commencement here in early May, most people were single degree/single majors. It's possible some tried to double major, but if the depts aren't really working together, double-majoring (esp. in 4 yrs) can be extremely difficult!
