<p>Doesn’t that apply to both sides though? Since this is a prep school forum I imagine there being more people providing views of B.S which is probably why you’re feeling like there isn’t a vast enough spectrum of views. I don’t find anything wrong with wanting to discuss options (public vs private). I’ve seen many people make some pretty great arguments on the topic that gave me a lot of food for thought. However, what I find weird is that FHF responds to someone like this:</p>
<p>“To be honest, your intelligence is far from the average. No offense, just tell from your replies to this post.” </p>
<p>To me this doesn’t spell out someone who wants to have a discussion or “intellectual discourse”. I can’t have a real discussion with someone who openly bashes and insults anyone who has a different opinion then theirs. It seems pretty fruitless to me. As a possible future applicant I am very interested in the public v private debate (my siblings go to public so I know the benefits/downsides to certain HS) and would like to encourage it openly as well, but I don’t feel this is the way to go about doing it.</p>
