I am waiting until May 9th because that is when the Kenyon admission rep. said they will annouce people off the waitlist (if there is anyone coming off). If you are praying that your #1 choice picks you off the waitlist…post! I hate this anxiety of waiting all over again. Anyone been waitlisted last year, get in their favorite school, and attend? What have people done to get off the waitlist besides send a “letter” by the way I sent one to kenyon yay! Just figured it would be nice to all talk on the same thread. Kenyon said that 2 years ago they took 50 off, where last yr they took 12…ahh the anguish!

Right here buddy, but Columbia waits until the 15th at the earliest and as late as the first of June. Pretty much, if they accept me really late, then I'd probably go to UNC. Otherwise, if I hear pretty early (for them), say around the 15th or that week, then I will probably go. Columbia's been even worse. Two years ago, maybe three, they only took off 6, but last year they took more than 40, and some years even into the hundreds. No way to really tell.
I think that I have a pretty good chance at acceptance (compared to the rate) because I am still from a state that sends few to CU, and I am a competitive applicant anyways.

I want all this waiting to end! I have been waitlisted to my top choice, Princeton, and I don't think I can handle waiting another two months.

The worst thing about it is knowing that you might get rejected after being waitlisted.

The other thing that bothers me is knowing that a lot of schools simply use the waitlist as a "polite rejection" and don't ever intend to remove you from the waiting list. Obviously, they don't understand how much psychological pain it inflicts.

I was waitlisted at my top choice (Northwestern) and at CMU. It is so scary. And I hate waiting. Theres no way of knowing what my chances are of getting off the waitlist at NU, but I'm planning on doing everything I can to get in. I am sending extra letters, essays, and updates. This is so crazy. Last year, some kids knew as early as May 10th, but they say you'll know by June 20th. I can't imagine leaving high school and not knowing where I'm going!!!!

My top choices were Oberlin, Reed, Chicago and Smith.
I haven't heard from Oberlin for some reason, but for Reed, Chicago, and Smith.. ALL waitlisted. ouch.

I was waitlisted at Stanford and I am basically numb... Another couple months of agony...
