My parents have been pressuring me to look into Reed colleg, and I know it has a sort of reputation for being very politically liberal (i.e. Communist, Athiest, etc.) My family moved to the states a couple of years ago from an eastern -block country, and they still hold onto the principles of that area, hence, the interest in the college. Anyone have any info?

lol... "(i.e. Communist, Athiest, etc.)"

atheism does not equal liberalism

The Reed bookstore sells clothing with the humorous tongue-in-cheek mottos "Communism, Atheism, Free Love" and "Capitalism, Avarism, and Free Beer" as an alternative. A small group of students has recently been petitioning the bookstore to update the shirts' text to read, "Socialism, Agnosticism, Safe Sex" according to Wikipedia. I'm afraid your parents will be greatly disappointed. But Reed is indeed quite liberal, at least by American standards.
