Exceeding the maximum Cal Grant award?

<p>Ok so I received an email today saying my Cal Grant was successfully renewed. So I went to go check it out. It said my award amount was $13,665 and my remaining eligibility was for two years. Keep in mind that I am a transfer student and will be transferring to UCLA this September. I'm wondering what's going on only because I read the max amount for a Cal Grant was $12,192. So just wondering if anyone had any ideas!</p>

<p>You have Cal Grant B which, after freshman year, is the amount of A+B.

Cal Grant B Entitlement awards provides low-income students with a living allowance and assistance with tuition and fees. Most first-year students receive an allowance of up to $1,473 for books and living expenses. After the freshman year, Cal Grant B also helps pay tuition and fees in the same amount as a Cal Grant A.
