Excel Resources at PSU

Is there a place on campus for a student to learn basic Excel skills? My son needs to learn some basic Excel skills for a probable summer internship. I know there is a class part of the Business curriculum that teaches it, but they were all full before his time to register for classes this semester. Any alternatives? Thanks in advance.

Do you know the course and course number from the Business curriculum that teaches the Excel that your son needs? If so, you could see if it is offered online through the world campus (I know other students who have done this). It also might not hurt to ask the professor if there is any possibility of adding another seat, explaining the internship. Alternatively, you can check out http://ittraining.psu.edu/ Based on a cursory overview, it seems like there’s free access to lynda.com, which would have a million tutorials on Excel if your son wanted to self-teach himself. Finally, there are countless online resources not affiliated with Penn State that I’m sure could help (Khan academy comes to mind). Sorry I don’t know any courses off the top of my head…I’m a senior in engineering, and we had to learn Excel on the fly. Good luck!
