Hi all,
I was looking over the web and found out about the Leadership in the Business World program at Penn (LBW)
If i were to attend it, would it increase my chances of being accepted next year? How much value would it have?
Hi all,

If you’re going to do it just to try and increase your chances of getting into Penn, I wouldn’t do it. That’s the wrong reason for attending that program.
It would show that you have interest in Penn, but exactly how much that affects your application I’m not sure.
I recommend that you use that time and money to further your passions that you’ll show in your application. Start a club. Invent something. Start a charity.
Many attended this got rejected, and many got in without it. This alone does not have much effect.
I didn’t attend LBW but know some kids on campus who did. While it by no means guarantees you an acceptance, it definitely helps your application. How much it increases your chances of being accepted depends on what you’d be doing instead. For most applicants, it’s not something too significant/amazing, so doing LBW helps. If you can do something great this summer without going to LBW, then don’t do LBW. If you’re going to be just sitting around or doing something of not too much value, LBW can help your application a lot.
It definitely increases chances, and their Website even mentions that. I am hopefully attending Young Scholars this summer (entering grade 11) and then would like to pursue either LEAD or LBW. If you attend, message me and we can meet up!
I did lbw and I know many brilliant friends who were rejected and others that were admitted. I think the acceptance rate is around 30 percent from lbw but tbh the kids at lbw are already amazingly brilliant. I think it helped a bit for me but other things were already wharton caliber in my case it just depends really. I also have another friend who got into lbw but dis something else with their summer and was accepted into the huntsman program so it’s more what you make of it. Bottom line it is a crazy fun summer and you get lots of networking opportunities with brilliant rising seniors and get to spend time on penns beautiful campus
i did lbw. APPLY it is amazing
