well, finals is not really a big issue.. i dont see it as something bad, neither is it 'good'.
oh, milton is harknessy? thats a plus.

Hahhaha well:)

Go to the campuses and pick which one you like better haha.

But I sincerely hope you pick Milton. Because then I'd know you, and that'd be super stellar.
And with the 50% day student, you can actually go visit other people's houses more often and probably get to establish closer relationships with their families than probably at a mostly boarding school.

yeah, it sounds like there's a good side to the 50% day student stats at Milton, but i still thing it can't sound nice to have half your school leaving after the end of the day. it doesnt really sound like a 'boarding experience'

hahaha yeah, well, there is a chance i'll still pick Milton :P

Awhh a chance is good:)

Go chances!

But I mean, day student can still spend the night with borders, so not EVERYONE has to leave at the end of the day. And chances are you'll forge super good friendships with your fellow borders, so you won't ever be alone!

You tell em, celestialstar:)

Exeter, Andover, or Milton would all be a good choice. They are all very intelligent top schools, without the intense competitive atmosphere of Deerfield. Deerfield kids HAVE to be the best at everything they do, and the school is really intense and competitive about everything (as I said before). Also, the Deerfield campus is beautiful, but it really is in the middle of nowhere. You won't be able to go anywhere! Exeter and Andover are in cute towns, and Milton is right by Boston (which is great). If I were you though, I would choose Andover or Milton because Exeter is highly academic, and Andover is a bit more relaxed as well as Milton (plus Milton is by the city!!)

thanks for the advices :)

I may add that Andover and Milton are both as academically competitive as Exeter. For some reason, and I do not know why, Exeter seems to attract the. Stereotype of "Korean math soccer geek".

from a newspaper article during the summer:
By College matriculations (but only to Ivies, Stanford, MIT, & Caltech):

1.) SPS
2.) Deerfield
3.) Milton
4.) Groton
5.) Middlesex
6.) Exeter
6.) Andover
8.) Lawrenceville
9.) Hockaday
10.) Peddie
11.) Hotchkiss
12.) Nobles
13.) St. Andrew's (DE)
14.) Blair

Yaaa SPS #1! :D lol j.k. Happy day could you send me the link to that article.

Me, as well, please. Thanks! :)

SPS! woot!
I'm surprised to see Exeter and Andover so low on the list, and I never knew Milton was so high!

Milton, as far as I can tell from viewbook, is that high solely because of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and MIT.

They sent like 34/150 to Harvard. In terms of percent to Harvard it is the first BS and like close to Roxbury Latin (first nationwide).

Oh wow, since I never hear of Milton I never knew it was such a good school!

Well, it's my top choice (soo close to Andover/Exeter/HK but I can't decide) but it has some other serious drawbacks...

Overall I love it, though... It's a first tier school, for sure.

i didn't check cc for two days, and the posts just keep piling and piling.

tgaspar: yea andover is close too, if you put it that way. but what i meant to imply was how milton is only like a couple minute drive from boston. i loved milton, but the 50 vs. 50 (boarding vs. day) turned me off. like it's not bad... but i heard mixed results from boarders. like some said the 50% baording and 50% day actually helped them make many really close friends living around boston, while others told me about the ongoing competition between day kids vs. boarding kids. i don't know, but i still like milton at the end of the day.

as for exeter, i really don't know what else to say, except that i never really had good experiences there. the school seems beautiful, but for me, i never got close with that town and the school (although there is this one really good pizzeria there. unfortunatley i forgot the name). besides that, maybe it's because i just never spent time researching about exeter much, but i was also more fond of andover and other schools, not to discriminate against exeter or anything.

congratulations on receiving admission from those extremely selective schools. hopefully revisit days will help sort out things a little bit better. good luck

sorry guys, I got these rankings from a newspaper, so I can't exactly send you the link, but I can post the whole list; at least up to how many schools were on the list....

so just tell me :O)

That would be nice, I always knew SPS, Milton, and Deerfield were on top of the list... They have been for a while... Between the three it switches around...

Yup, smaller schools tend to do better with the college stats. Its easier to make sure a good percentage of the class gets to IVY league + the others when it's smaller. In bigger schools there's always a lot of retard kids who failed when challenged and just smoked weed every day, its harder to catch those kids in such a big school in comparison to a small school. I think thats why SPS and DA do better than A/E in matriculation.
