<p>It’s hard for students to give these stats because we just wrote our applications and got in. But still, I would guess that SSAT scores are the least important, as long as you have adequate scores. The essay is probably very important because it demonstrates your writing skills and shows who you are and what you care about. Same thing for the interview, but I think the interview is to see if you are truly interested in the school and if you could fit in and handle being at a boarding school. It’s really hard to know about recs, because we never even get to see our recs so we don’t know if they’re good or not before the admissions officers see them.</p>
<p>SSATs probably matter more if the applicant is from a school whose grading policy is not well known-- grades, especially at the elementary school level, vary so widely as to be very very difficult to interpret unless the boarding school knows how the elementary school grades.</p>
