Anyone know what the experimental section was for the sat today?

Reading?
Math (I think--not sure)

Which one was it? THe third section (math) was a lot harder than the others/had some strange questions (IMO)

Did the math section’s last question have something about the distance between two parallel lines?

What is an experimental section?

I had math second to last and I think writing before that. After the essay I had reading. Anybody know what mine is? Also, does the experimental section not count for your full score?

All I know is that I had 4 Reading Sections, meaning that one of them must have been experimental.

could anyone else with 4 reading sections tell which one was experimental? I would really like to hear that it was the section with the string theory passage…that was not an easy passage by any stretch of the imagination.

I had 4 math sections, one of them was SO hard so I’m guessing that’s the experimental, if it was, then my math score prediction is considerably higher:)

Are you talking about the math section which had the kid packing for his trip with 1/4 of his allowance and 1/3 of the remaining money and stuff?
I think I got that question wrong and I really hope it was in the experimental…

guitar, you can tell which subject area had the experimental section in your test booklet if you can retrace your steps.

If you had an abnormally high number of sections on a particular subject, then it assumed that is the experimental one. for writing you’d see 3, math 4, and reading 4

nah allowance question was the real thing. I had that question and I am dead sure that my experimental section was CR

@pratt sorry to inform but string theory wasn’t experimental. I think it was something about vienna that was. I loved that passage tho since I have some beforehand knowledge of string theory.

That wasn’t experimental. I had that and i didn’t have any experimental math sections (i had the normal amount of math sections).

@prattenis: I had what you had. I really hope the Robinson Crusoe was experimental.

Lucky me! I feel like the Vienna passage was the only one I nailed…in the entire critical reading portion.

Jan. SAT gave me a prompt about laboratory procedure…that was so much better.

was frida kahlo passage exp. or counted?

I think it was something about vienna that was

can you elaborate on that?

No I really can’t. But Robinson Crusoe…wasn’t that the last passage in the 20 minute reading section, I think it was the one where a diamond was stolen. If so, that was definitely not experimental

ok then! Fine! lol

i got 4 maths sections

I am almost a 100% sure that the venice was the experimental after asking a couple of my friends what they had for CR and didnt

What was the Venice one about?

Haha I liked that one. For some odd reason, I feel like I have way more time on the 20 min. sections when compared to the 25 min. sections.

I want to go rape string theory right now, it was so damn confusing analyzing the different viewpoints b/t passage 1 and 2. I know passage 1 supported theoretical aspect and passage 2 said theory was a bunch of bs, but so many of those questions had me choosing between 2 options. Plus, I barely had time for the last two so I used the infamous “I’m slow to close my booklet after the section has ended” technique.

And math, don’t get me started…missed the bread question and 4 integer question. I may not even defeat my 590 with this. Math was tons easier than January, it sucks I couldn’t take advantage of that.

I wrote a 4 paragraph, 1.5 page essay. No arguments. It’s an 8 like last time.
