Expo Writing VS. Fiction/Poetry I

which course should i take?

right now, i signed up for Expo Writing, because that fit my schedule perfectly and at the time i didnt really care either way.

however now, i am really interested in IFP and there happens to be an open slot that fits my schedule.

in my opinion, the pros of Expo Writing for me are that while it may be more difficult, the format of the essays and discussions would probably prepare me to write better and more intelligently for college than taking IFP will. also, the topic (The Uncanny) seems pretty interesting to me too.

the cons are that i hear its difficult and that the professors grade arbitrarily and there is a lot of reading and writing.

for IFP, the pros are that i really enjoy creative writing and i really want to know more about it.

the cons for IFP are that i dont know if it will prepare me for college-level essays and will teach me to be a strong writer, as opposed to a creative one.

which do i choose? right now, im kind of leaning towards IFP.

also, btw, since i registered for Expo Writing, if i drop it and take IFP, does it show poorly on my transcript saying that i dropped a course or something?

thanks

Go to both classes the first day - you have two weeks to decide with no ramifications on your transcript. Then pick the one you want.

Who’s teaching the IFP section?

for IFP I, it is Glenn Blake

for Expo, it is Caroline Michelle Domenghino
