Writing Intensive Courses

Guys, I have a few questions...

Is it really advisable to get rid of the Writing Intensive requirements under covered grades? I already registered for something else that's not WI, but now I'm thinking of signing up for IFP (Intro to Fiction/Poetry I) instead.

I like the idea of creative writing, but I'm scared of the poetry part of IFP. I'm not good with poems. Will it be a bad idea to register for IFP?

If I kept my current schedule, how difficult would it be to take care of my WI reqs during my sophomore and junior years? (I'm a BME, btw) I've found a few humanities courses that are WI and pretty interesting, so I might go for them instead. Not sure how hard they would be, though.

Can anyone give me some of their perspectives? I'd REALLY appreciate the tiniest bit of help :)

is there a requirement that WI course should be included every year or only a general requirement that you should complete 12 credits before graduation?

You need to complete the requirements before graduation but how you reach the WI requirement is up to you. Also, not all majors have the 12 credit requirement. For example, BME is 6.

It seems to me like you should take IFP under covered grades first semester. I took one WI course each year, including one (a 400 level history course) my first semester under covered grades.

IFP is a breeze. It’s pretty much impossible to get lower than a B/B+ if you show up and give an honest effort.
