Expository Writing as a sophomore?

I have expos right now in the second semester of my freshman year but the professor just sucks (unfair grader). I feel like I can do a lot better with a fair teacher. Should I take the class next year as a sophomore (When I will actually have a chance to pick a professor of choice)? Does that look bad on the transcript? Is it even allowed to be taken in sophomore year?
Btw, I'm in school of engineering (if that makes any difference)
Thanks for the help!

I don’t think it will make much difference when you take expos since you are an engineering major. I would drop it while you can (today is the last day to drop) and check RateMyProfessor.com next year when you sign up again.

The class can be a nightmare with the wrong professor and a bad grade will look worse than taking the class as a sophmore.

yeah I think that what I’m going to do. Thanks for your help

Did you register late for the class?

No i registered on time but it just realized that students are not allowed to drop a writing course once they’ve taken it. Guess i’m stuck with it =/

i think you need the dean’s permission to drop it. dean rankin is very nice so it shouldn’t be too hard  do it now before you get a W!

I think people are giving you bad advice saying to drop it. Your engineering classes are going to be much harder next year, so you don’t want expos weighing you down. All of the teachers pretty much have to grade hard since they are under department review, but the first essay is usually the worst. When I took it, I got C+,B,B+,A,A,A and only last 3 counted so it gets easier. Also, you already got a paper back with a grade? Don’t think it’s going to be much easier…maybe you are a weaker writer than you think. Stick it out, better now than when you have more to do.
