Extensive: G-Town SFS, Yale, Columbia, NYU?

Hello, thank you for any potential responses. I really appreciate your time. Here are my stats! I’m a senior with a current major in visual arts who plans to attend the SFS or major in poli sci with concentration in international relations/minor in language (depending on the school).

General Stats:
-Asian Female
-Dad is PhD, Mom is currently working on PhD
-Visual Arts student w/3 art classes per day
-Ranking: 2 out of 110 (I go to an audition-only performing/visual arts high school, which is why each class is so small! We’re sister schools with another school on campus where we take our academics. That school has around 2000 students and we’re ranked separately bc our arts-based curriculum tends to drag down our GPAs)

My brother got in to Georgetown with a much less impressive resume. Based on that, I think you’re good there. You’re a shoo-in at GW. For those Ivies, however, I would take a stab at improving your SATII’s.

You have a solid chance at Georgetown but it definitely will NOT be easy at SFS, maybe 40% chance? Shoo-in for GW, yes. I’ve been to multiple Georgetown SFS events and all the students are extremely well lettered. As for Hopkins, I’m not so certain but I guess you have a ok chance (depends on what you’re applying for). Yale, Columbia, is a pretty big jump - good luck. UMiami? Know nothing about it (from what I’ve heard it should be a breeze to get accepted but getting a full ride anywhere is hard).

NYU? Well, which NYU school? NYU has multiple different schools which you apply to individually and each hold you to a different set of standards. You seem to like arts so Tisch? Tisch has an extremely low acceptance rate and is enormously expensive. Might end up paying ~85-90K per year (no scholarships, and NYU is bad with aid). Now, that’s assuming that you’re applying for their NYUNY campus, what about NYUSH and NYUAD? But with what information you’ve provided I would say applying to “NYU” is a safe bet.

Best of luck!!

Thank you for your replies

@iywang Thank you for your help! I’ve already gotten the UM full ride. For NYU I would be applying to the College of Arts and Science (for Hopkins too, as well as International Studies for the latter). Applying for all 3 campuses.
