Extenuating circumstances?

I'm wondering how much Stanford takes extenuating circumstances into account?

For example, I'm applying this year with a 3.93 GPA, 4.4 weighted. EC's are weak. I'm editor-in-chief of the yearbook this year, treasurer/co-founder of my school's cancer awareness club. I won my district's recognition award this year. I did some stuff 10th grade (best buddies, mentoring) but I had to drop out.

760 math, 770 cr, 800 writing.
710 math iic, 730 literature

But, I'm sick. I've got a genetic disorder that require iv nutrition/meds and undergo constant procedures that limit my ability to participate in pretty much everything. I've got tubes and scars up the wazoo, plus the whole thing causes constant pain, surgeries, etc. I was out of school the second semester of both my 10th and 11th grade year because I was in the hospital and extremely sick and having surgeries and the like, and that's why I had to give up so many activities. I had to make up school in the summer also, so bye bye summer programs.

So my question, are they going to take all this into account? or am I basically screwed?

They will take it into account (you are given an entire separate page to explain extenuating circumstances), and they will likely be impressed by your continued committment to ECs in such conditions.

OP:

My cousin has cystic fibrosis and missed almost her entire sophmore year, and currently attends Yale.

I think Stanford will definitely take your illness into account.
