External Counseling Companies- Do they work?

Hey guys!

I've been getting brochures from these college admissions counseling companies. Some of these companies include IvyWise, the Ivy Coach, and College Admissions Assistance. I wanted to know if these companies will actually help me get into one of my top three colleges becuase on their website they advertise exorbitant accepatnce rates for people who participate in their programs: 93% to 100%. Nevertheless, the price of the program is stupendously high, somewhere between $30,000 to $50,000. So I wanted to see if anyone knew about how effective these College Counselor prgrams actually are because I find my actual high school counselor at school very ineffective. By the way, my top college choices right now are Harvard, UPenn, Princeton, Stanford, Columbia and UChicago.

It’s a scam. Don’t even think about it.

No counselor can get you into those schools if you don’t have the goods. What they can help you do is present yourself more effectively and come up with the best admissions strategy. Keep in mind that for the best results, you need to start working with them before soph year.
