On the common app where you have to list your activities, I'm really not sure where to begin. Sports, theater, community service?

It asks to list what is most important to you in order, but do you think you should put them in categorizes like 2 sports, 1 hobby, 2 community service..

Or just random?

Also, my favorite activity is motorcycling, and I've been riding for over a year. Would it look bad to put this first or unique? And how do I include that I do Comm. service riding (such as the "pediatric brain tumor foundation's motorcycle ride?")

Place them in their order of importance to you. If motorcycling is your fav, then put it first. Under the “positions held, honors won…” portion for the activity, you can include the comm service riding you did.

this may be dumb, but if i’m applying as a transfer from a community college, but only have completed one year, should I talk about my varsity sports in high school? I was three varsity volleyball and captain and such.

On the Activities section of Transfer version of the Common App Online you are prompted for activities from junior year of high school (11th grade) and up. Your participation in varsity sports is definitely relevant.

Only including EC’s that you have done or are currently doing. Stick to the facts. If you do participate in something extraordinary or win an award after you’ve submitted your application, then let the colleges know about it at that time.

list them according to their importance to you. if you were to choose to give up your activities one by one, which would you pick?

2 full semesters of varsity sailing and big role could either be put in the awards/honors of the EC, or in the additional information section imho.
