Extra curricular questions

Hi, I’m currently a junior (soon to be senior in about two weeks) and I am freaking out. I haven’t really done much in terms of extra curricular activities throughout my high school career, or ANY activities, for that matter. I was in a medical program at my school for about two years, but I dropped that, and the only classes outside of core classes I’ve taken is a foreign language class for three years now. I have a pretty good GPA so far (about 3.9 unweighted) and I’ve taken some AP courses (US History, chemistry, language & comp, and I plan on doing at least three or four more by the time senior year comes). I took the SATs in February, and I got about a 1970 on it (and, hopefully, I’ll be able to raise it past 2000 by the time college applications need to be turned in). but I know that colleges want to see more.

I’m planning on volunteering/doing something this upcoming summer, but I know that colleges like to see commitment. I’m not interested in clubs at my school, and I feel like it’s already too late to partake in any. I’m not aiming for like the top five colleges in the nation, but I would have liked to go somewhere at least in the top fifties maybe? Like UW or something?

Do I have a chance here, or am I just screwed?

How do you usually spend your summer, like last year? If you are truly sitting in front of TV all summer, that doesn’t look good, but you must be doing something other than that. What’s your hobby? Anyway, doing something is better than giving up and doing nothing this summer. So do something!! Good luck!

I went on a trip to Asia last summer. Haha, not the best way to spend my vacation, I guess. I’m planning on volunteering at the hospital in my area this summer, I just hope that’s good enough… And for hobbies, I enjoy art, and maybe science stuff.
Thanks for commenting! I’ll definitely do SOMETHING for sure this summer, haha!
