Extra-curriculars help

I'm really interested in art history and am trying to make that sort of the theme of my extra-curricular activities. Can anyone tell me how this will look on college apps?

Definite:
-Independent study: starting it this year, will focus on history research (most likely having to do with art history,) plan on getting published (my advisor for the project said it would definitely be possible.)
-Self-studying Art History AP: not really an extra-curricular, but shows motivation and interest, right? My school doesn't offer the class.
-Volunteering at non-profit children's art class
-tutor at charter school for reading
-Ballet throughout high school
-member of student dance troupe throughout high school

Possible:
-This essay-based scholarship to go on a 2-week art history trip to Italy
Scholarships available - Dates and Prices - Art History Abroad
-Competitive programs at the National Gallery of Art (very likely as my art teacher has connections there and my school has a good reputation with them)
National Gallery of Art - High School Programs
-Maybe an internship at the Freer & Sackler galleries (they have high school internships, and I may or may not have a connection)
-Maybe art competitions (I'm taking studio art as well and will be taking the ap next year)

Also, if anyone has any ideas about art history extra-curriculars, I would love suggestions!
Thanks!

for very selective colleges where ECs tend to matter, member of this or participant in that doesn’t carry a lot of freight. They are so deluged with applicants that its things like leadership and achievement that stand out. Your possible activities sound pretty intriguing, though, as does getting something published if its in a selective publication.
