Extra Financial Aid?

Heya.

I got admitted into USC fall, which I am ecstatic for! I really, really want to go. However, I am concerned about the financial aid

The calculator suggest the cost of travel and personal expenses will be 1,500 a year, which is accounted for (aside from the 2,500 summer work requirement.) However, I come from an extremely low income and rural family with an EFC of 0. I don’t have a laptop, or a cell phone (I borrow my mothers), and a ticket from here to there is over $500 round trip, and then there’s $300 for the enrollment deposit and $800 for the housing deposit.

Essentially, I can’t pay for all this with just $1,500, and I also can’t really get it from my family either. What I’m wondering is, is it possible or likely that USC will give me a bit of extra aid to pay for these things? In loans or otherwise.

I’m not sure if they will give you more financial aid, but you can have the $300 enrollment waived. When you go to pay for the deposit in YouSC, it gives you the option of a credit card or waiver. And, talk to financial aid about the $800 housing fee and they should waive it too.

They discussed the $800 in this thread:

Even though it’s 5 years old, it should still be valid.
