800 dollar housing contract?

What's the deal with this? Why is it so expensive? It says you have to pay with a credit card and I don't have one of those.. I told my mom USC guaranteed to meet my full financial need and that is why she is letting me attend. Asking her to rack up 800 dollars on her credit card is really stressin me out! I'm getting the full financial aid package. Is there a way to get this waived?

Also, I listed New/North as my first choice and got into arts and humanities. I would be cool with this but it's 2,000 more a year. USC, I'm poor! You know this! Give me a break, guys!

If you know for a sure that you are getting a full financial aid, then you should be able to waive/postpone housing deposit. If the option is not given when you are paying, definitely talk to USC housing office.

You should qualify for a waiver, most definitely. Contact USC. The $800 fee is apart of whatever the total cost of USC has been determined to be for you (i.e. whatever was outlined in your financial aid package) not in addition to it. This is essentially your first installment of whatever you’re paying the school. Hope that makes sense!
