Extra Time

Oh the irony! Comma splice how about? And I was not trying to control you. A request is not an attempt at control. Again, (look above) -stoopid

hmm personal indignation. Got extra time buddy? You got a ‘disease’? Don’t worry!

^
You just showed once again what an ignorant jerk you are. No, I don’t. But the people that do have serious conditions which you don’t have the right to make fun of or complain about.

^
Yeah but A LOT of kids don’t have ANY issues. Or they go to a doctor and pay him 100 bucks to get a “diagnosis.” I honestly think SOME kids have legit learning disabilities, like dyslexia, but I think a lot more have concocted illegitimate excuses to get extra time.

OP: It sort of bugs me, but honestly these kids aren’t getting good scores anyway, so it’s not affecting you. It’s wrong, but it’s not devaluing YOUR scores…

Like when I took the SSAT (for private high schools) at my private middle school, the teachers proctoring the exam were like, “OK, now don’t tell anyone this, but we’re giving you all extra time to go back to any section you want.” Apparently since a couple kids at the school had some learning disability, the school got extra time for them–and then gave that time to everyone else, too. SOOOO messed up. But it was in the school’s self-interest, since the higher scores of the kids, the better schools they’d get into, the more parents would want to send their kids to theschool –> mo $$$, etc…

Also what is this PC crap about “learning difference?” If it’s a DIFFERENCE and not a disability, why the heck do they get extra time???

Yeah it sort of is like if you gave people an advantage since they were born stupider. I’m sorry if this comes off as insensitive but if we wanted to equalize everything collegeboard could just award everyone a 2400. Those kids aren’t gonna get “extra time” when they’re preparing a job proposal, or arguing a case in court, or whatever else it is they go on to do.
