Extracurricular Essay on Common APP

Hey everyone:) So the common app asks students to write a short 1000 character blurb on an extracurricular activity. But my "blurb" is more like an essay and is over a 1000 characters. I heard that you can place the remainder of the essay in the "additional information section". Is this true? Or will admissions officers look down on this? Thanks for your help!

DO NOT DO THIS. It’s not encouraged, in fact I’m pretty sure they say somewhere not to do it and it’s like telling your admissions officer that you have difficulty following instructions. Just ask someone else to help you cut out unnecessary details in order to meet the character requirement.

Seriously? Okay…I’ll try to cut my essay down then. Thanks for your help!

Yes conciseness is always favored in college admissions essays.
