Hello everyone! I am currently a sophomore in high school and desire to attend an Ivy League school with a major in computer science. I am having trouble making a strong extracurricular foundation.
My current ECs
- DECA (President, Won Regionals last Year)
- Executive (Student Council) Vice President (of class)
- Math Team
- I am teaching myself programming online (I take courses out of school and gain certificates for each one)
My plans are to create a Robotics Team at school (to bolster STEM interest and work with the new principal to make more opportunities for coding available), create my own business (related to programming), introduce Mu Alpha Theta to Math Team, and construct a chess team (I only picked up chess about a two years ago but I was able to beat my experienced friends). Beside that, I am interested in most STEM areas and entrepreneurship. I am also a fantastic writer. In school, I take the hardest classes and ace them all. Overall, would my plans help me in the long run or are there other activities I should be doing? Should I stick with my ECs and plans?
Thank you for your time.
