Incoming freshman at a good state school. Am trying to plan for meaningful (to me, and hopefully to medical school adcoms) extracurricular opportunities. Something more than volunteering at a hospital. Basic science research doesn't really sound appealing to me right now, but clinical trials I think could be fun and rewarding. However, I don't think it's available to me in my town. Not knowing what my schedule will be like, and starting to take pre-med prerequisites this fall, I'm thinking more of summer work right now that would in some way be medically related. Would really love a project where I could accomplish something rewarding. Doesn't need to pay. I know many of you are doing interesting stuff or have heard of others doing unique and interesting things. Any ideas you can give me? Thank-you!
