Extracurriculars freshman year

Hey everyone. So I am applying to colleges (HYPS and backups etc.) but I am wondering about ECs. In my freshman year I didn't do much at all. I was adjusting to high school, and I had to go home before most ECs ended because of bussing. So, does only 2-3 year EC commitment (very deep commitment and leadership in those 2-3 years) knock me out for HYPS?

Thanks for any insight.

Bump bump bump.

No worries. That will not keep you out. Other things might… but I would not worry about that.

Okay. Great. Thanks.

I appreciate your advice

Bump. Any other thoughts? Anybody?

You should not worry about it. As long as you demonstrated your passion and dedication on something, you are fine.

I am a freshmen in high school and the only extracurricular activities I have time for are Debate and Tennis. I am currently trying to join clubs, but it’s really hard to balance my schedule and study. Does anyone have advices for this?

I am so sorry, I know it’s not an excuse but I just joined yesterday and I will try my best to acknowledge the rules on this forum.
