Extracurriculars

I am high school junior. Throughout my high school career, I have participated in Amnesty International, Key Club, Student Council, as well as started a non profit organization that I am the president and Chairman of, and also conducted research about the most efficient way to grow organic foods in a indoor space. Are these good extracurriculars, and what kind of college will these get me into?

“Good” extracurriculars are extracurriculars that you enjoy doing. These are fine extracurriculars for almost any college. Your GPA and test scores are much more important in terms of college admission, and it’s hard to determine what “kind” of college will accept you with this limited amount of information.

After much time on CC and researching the perfect EC’s, I have come to a conclusion. The amount of activities doesn’t matter. Quality over quantity. Once you have about 2-3 really good Ec’s that you can show that you are passionate about and actually enjoy doing, colleges don’t really care much about them as much. You have good EC’s but you need to show your passion for them. If you do, your EC’s will not hold you back from an acceptance from any school.

Your ECs are fine but they won’t get you in any school. Before ECs even come into play you need the academic qualifications.

To clarify, I did not intend to ask if i could get into a college buy just using these ECs and having no academic qualifications. I was asking if I had the academic qualifications, would these ECs allow me to get into top tier schools, or are they not enough.

Assuming your have the academic qualifications your ECs will not get you in nor will they keep you out.
