I submitted my IDOC packet to IDOC on February 28th, which is before Rice's deadline. However, my Esther portal says Rice received the packet on March 9th, nine days afterwards. I know they said they process financial aid apps all year round but should I be worried that I might get less funds since I didn't meet the priority deadline? (Please note that I submitted both the CSS Profile and the FAFSA way before the deadline.)

This applies to my other schools as well; if I submitted the packet to IDOC before the school's deadline, will I be okay? Thanks.

On the IDOC website, it says that colleges schedule their deadlines with the IDOC processing time in mind, and the date that matters is when IDOC receives the information, not when the college does.

Though if you sent it on February 28th, they probably did not receive it until after March 1st. Either way, I really doubt that this is going to be an issue at all. Worst case scenario, you get your financial aid award a couple of weeks late.

No, it will not affect your financial aid package.

What about my noncustodial parent who just submitted the IDOC packet last week? He didn’t have his taxes done until last weekend, so even though I warned him back in December and gave him fairly constant reminders, he did not meet the deadline for most of my schools.

(Sorry, this has turned into less of a Rice-specific thread and more of a general Financial Aid thread. I did not intend for this to be so when I made it.)

I really appreciate the advice.

Our accountant wasn’t able to get/compile all of the documents he needed to file our taxes in time, so my mom just submitted the IDOC last monday. My mom called the FA office and they said that if it’s late, it’s basically okay, but that our FA package may not be able to be available with our admissions decision. If that helps any! :)
