Hi y'all, I'm interested in applying to USoCal. I've done abit of research on the USC website - I'm going to apply for the Trustee Scholarship which covers full tuition. I have a couple of qns
[ul][li]The website states that an interview is necessary for finalists. Has anyone done this before? Would I have to fly down to LA? (not that that's bad) Or share your experience with any other universities.
[/li]

[li]Does USC provide any additional need-based FA to international students? E.g. to cover living expenses.
[/li]

[li]If not, what is the average living expenses for one year in LA? The USC housing site lists the expenses at about USD14,000 but that doesn't include books, laptop, clothing ... Could anyone studying at a Cal university respond? :)[/ul]
[/li]

I've just exposed my ignorance :( Thanks for all you guys' help.

If you're selected to be a finalist for the Trustee or Presidential (half tuition), scholarship, you will have to attend the Explore USC weekend. It's an opportunity to see the school and surrounding area.
USC does not provide financial aid for international students so without scholarships, the estimated amount for one year will be around 52000 (tuition, room and board at USC and expenses). The actual amount might increase as tution might increase. So yes, even with full tuition scholarship, you will be looking at $15000 to $16000 a year.

Oh, okay. I guess it's good that I'm looking at mostly California universities - don't need to fly around the country :)
Hmm, 15000USD... Well I better start hoping the USD continues dropping relative to the Singapore dollar then =/
