Do people get offended if you un-friend them?

And do they know when you un-friend them?

If they dont' know you, the chances of them figuring out it's you that defriended them are pretty small. And they won't know you are doing this, but their number of friends will decrease, so if they keep track of that for some weird reason, they will know someone left.

For some reason I was a little hurt when an old friend from high school defriended me (even though we weren't the closest of friends and hadn't talked for a few years).

I wouldn't be offended if someone I didn't actually know did, though. There were a few people that added me before school that I didn't recognize but was afraid that I had met them at orientation and just wasn't remembering them...so yeah...if one of them decided to cut me from their list, I wouldn't care since I haven't talked to them at all since getting here.

Oh! One of the guys that randomly added me sits behind me in one of my classes and hasn't said anything at all to me since it started. On the first day he glanced at me as he walked in and did a double take, though, so I'm guessing that he remembered that he added a girl he'd never talked to before. lol

Ahhh, facebook etiquette...

Personally I look up people I've met, ESPECIALLY those of the opposite sex.
