I hate that family members, teachers, and elder people I know are getting facebooks. But I put them on the most restricted setting.

I don't see why it's so sketchy. You can put people on limited profile if you're unsure about them. You can limit who can search for you and what they see when they get to your info strip. You can de-friend people if you like, or don't even friend them in the first place.

^ " I just use friends for mutual entertainment". Wow, you have guts to say something like that. Many people talk about how many "friends" they have, but really they are just casual friends/acquaintances. How many real friendships do we really have? Not too many.

I don't have this new layout everyone's talking about, so I have no idea what's going on. :/

the new layout is terrible... it's supposed to be more like twitter... which is not what facebook is.

if someone knows how the f you can get to the birthday calendar on new facebook... please tell me. It is not on the main page and I can't find it.

facebook "sold out" and is competing with myspace and other social networks. I don't think the founder of facebook really gives a **** because he's so rich!

agreed. but also now i have like ten different groups(one for family, one for distant friends, one for school faculties, blah balh) and have set different restriction settings for each of them. like ohh wait i can't show this album to my mom&dad but my friends must see it or i feel too awkward showing this video to that kid i saw once at summer camp five years ago.

facebook is GREAT for keeping in touch, but also is SUCH a self-marketing tool/an ego contest like oh how many friends do y ou have? who writes on your wall? what were you doing last friday night?!?!?!

go on the 'notification bar' (the thing that runs across the bottom of all facebook pages), and click on the leftmost button, Applications. A list will pop up, click Events.

the tabs will be as follows:

Upcoming Events | Friends' Events | Past Events | Birthdays

click Birthdays, you'll be good to go.
