Factoring in Life's troubles to College Admissions

Hey guys, Im an ED for Princeton but I was wondering if they acknowledge the difficulty of one’s life at all during the admission process. Personally, my mother died when I was 12, my dad remarried and divorced recently, and moved to a different state for a job. i am practically raising my little brother right now. I noted this down on the “additional info” but Im not sure if they will take this into acount. although Im in the top 2% of the class, i think that i could have done alot better academically had I not been given this “extra burden.” (I use the word “burden” very reluctantly as I love my little brother and wish only the best for him. He will never be a burden as long as I know he is happy.) Just wondering if they do note this at all…

It will be noted. But unless your stats are within the 25-75% range for Princeton it's not going to be the factor that gets you in. It's just another admin. tidbit they will consider. Good luck to you!
