<p>How do you think colleges look at dual citizenship? I have dual citizenship from America and Japan, but I’ve lived in America for my whole life. I’m half Japanese, and I speak fairly fluent Japanese.</p>

<p>It is a great thing!
Y’see, as i mentioned in my post, colleges need “international students” too boost their diversity. However, for each int’l student they admit, they can’t apply federal funding for it. Therefore, dual citizenship solves their problem - increase “international” population, yet allowing them to get federal funding. So you can apply for financial aid. Some people argue this is even better than just plain being asian american, but I’m not sure yet. But I have to say, even if you can’t speak Japanese you’d still be very favored! Good luck!</p>
<p>^I was dual citizen with India when I applied, that may have helped I guess. I never really thought about it.</p>
