Faculties In Mcgill

can someone explain to me this whole faculty buisness in McGill. I want to major in econ or poli sci but do pre med as well ( idef want to be a doctor) so what faculties do i apply to and how does the system there work

you'd want to be in the faculty of arts
it'S the most flexible- you can take the science courses that are prerequisites for medical school and i think you can only major in poli sci when ur in arts. econ you can do in the faculty of management but then there's a lot of required courses you'd need to take for the degree in that faculty
so a B.A. is your best option, making half of your electives the science courses you need

faculty of arts & science might be your best bet, but it's a fairly competitive faculty admissions-wise. that way you can take both types of courses, and will still graduate with a science-related degree, if that's at all important to you.

i would agree with katiebee. go with arts and sci

i'm in artsci- artsci is a b!tch
seriously
the admin isn't even sure where they're going
trust me, there's no point being in artsci if u don't want a program that's exclusive to it
that's just my advice

3.5 UW gpa which is roughly 89/90 % 4.8 weighted gpa. In our school 87-89 is B+ 90-92 is A- and 93-97 is A. For B+ u get a 3.33, an a- gives u a 3.67 and an a gives u a 4. For every AP u add .15 to ur total gpa and for every honors course u add .075. I have go to a very competitive suburban publich high school. Ranked as one of the best in philadelphia area
Hardest possible course load every class taken has either been honors or AP

WOULD I BE ABLE TO GET INTO MCGILL WITH THESE GRADES/EXTRA-CO. WOULD I GET INTO ARTS AND SCIENCES WITH THIS OR WOULD ARTS AND SCIENCES BE A LONG SHOT

EC's DON'T MATTER AT McGILL!!! lol no one seems to grasp this-the only things that they care about are grades and scores.

fine my grades and what not...will they get me into Mcgill artsci

yes i think activities do make a small difference however indirectly. Mcgill does look at recomendations and i had a friends in a previous year with the exactly same score as me/ similar subjects rejected while i was accepted. I can only assume that they like my activities through my recomendations and it helped. this is however only speculation. Activities do play a much more important role in ivey, qc etc..

rite...so what do you people thing of my chances for artsci at mcgill. I am trying to make a college list for next year i need to no where to place schools: reach, safety, or match. So far ive thought that mcgill would be a nice match school, but i could be wrong

princetonreview.com gives mcgills average scores but i dont kno if they are correct...i kno the arts science is usually the most competitive
