Hi, so this is my story.
I am confused on how to correctly answer to "the number of people in students' household".
There are a total of 6 people in my family, I live with only my dad now, my other 3 siblings live with my mum in another country however, they receive more than half of their support from my dad. so i answer 2 or 6 for the number of people in my household?

It sounds like 2. Are your parents divorced?

My parents are not divorced they are separated

I think you put 2, but somewhere maybe your dad lists the support he pays???

See https://fafsa.ed.gov/fotw1314/help/snumOfFamily.htm
#2 may be applicable to your foreign siblings

I think the answer is 5, your dad, yourself and your 3 siblings if your dad will continue to provide over half your sibling’s support from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.

The quote is a year old but it hasn’t changed.

http://www.utdallas.edu/student/finaid/verification.html#household

If your dad includes child support paid on the FAFSA, he cannot include them in the household size. If he does not pay formal child support and does not include child support paid on the FAFSA, and if he provides at least 50% of the support, he can count them in the household size.
