I received an email today that I would not be receiving a CalGrant for 2012-13. Confused, I checked the FAFSA website and noticed that although I completed the forms in February, I had not actually submitted the form. Apparently, I very stupidly did not submit the form that I completed on time. However, this means that I am now about 3 months late to submit the form.

Will I not be getting a CalGrant for the upcoming year? The email did say to check the forms and make any corrections. So I am very confused. This situation is very stressful and I'm panicking like crazy over this... Please help if you have experience with a similar situation or if you are professionally inclined to do so. Thank you so much!

EDIT: Just rechecked on the situation. The FAFSA was sent and received on time but the information was incorrect and I accidentily wrote my mother’s income as my own in addition to my mother’s income thus doubling our household income (my dad is out of the picture). Therefore, it was speculated that we make way more money then we actually do. The corrected form is what I submitted again today with my income being zero. I feel this makes the situation a little better.

Basically: I submitted the FAFSA on time but the information was incorrect. I submitted a corrected FAFSA today upon their advice to do so in their email to me. What will happen in terms of a CalGrant?

I apologize if I’m not making sense or if I am rambling. I’m a little flustered at the moment. Thank you again though!
