So I submitted my fafsa on January 14th. the deadline for a school i applied to is February 1st, so I figured it was okay. Then I read and found out that I also had to send out my parents tax returns and W-2s by the deadline. Its february 4th, so would it be okay to send it out ASAP? I mean will this hurt me? I didnt have my w-2s for a while anyway...

Thanks.

It would certainly be better to send it out ASAP rather than delaying any further. Most schools will accept financial aid application materials after their “priority deadline” but it may mean that others end up ahead of you in line for their limited amount of funds. Applications are usually considered on a first-come, first-served basis after the deadline. (However, a Feb. 1 deadline for tax returns and W-2’s is very hard to meet, as employers aren’t required to get the W-2 to you until Jan. 31! Are you sure they want 2010 taxes that soon?)

Double and Triple check all your other schools to make sure you’re not missing anything else!

Why does noone understand what the word deadline means?
