Five years ago, we applied for FA for my D--didn't receive any, which was pretty much what we expected. Have not applied again, but now financial situation is changed, and we will be applying for S's last two years. My question is, at this point, do i apply for a new PIN for myself, or contact them for a copy of the old one (which I don't have anymore)? Does a parent pin stay the same forever, for different kids?

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows.

(BTW, have checked with the college, and they said it's fine with them for us to apply for FA though we didn't when S first started there--in fact, they were surprised I even asked the question, which I did on account of so many cautions on these threads.)

Your PIN will expire if it has been inactive for 18 consecutive months. Each time you perform one of the following actions with your PIN, the expiration date for your PIN will be changed to 18 months from the date of the action.

* Authenticate using your PIN
* Request a Duplicate PIN
* Update information associated with your PIN
* Change your PIN

Expiration of PINs will begin in July 2006. If your PIN expires, you will need to reapply for a PIN. To reapply for a PIN, select the "Apply for a PIN" option on the PIN home page.
