Fafsa Q, # Of Family Members

In FAFSA, for STUDENT'S INFORMATION, there is a section designated "Your Family" and asks for Number of Family Members in your household in 2005-2006 and Number in College in 2005-2006. Also, in the PARENT'S SECTION
it asks for Parents' number of family members in household in 2005-2006
and Parents' number of family members in college in 2005-2006.

Now, I'm confused. If I live with my parents, aren't these numbers the same? Or does the # in STUDENTS' SECTION deal with something along the lines that I have a child or something?

Can someone please clarify this information for me?
Thanks

P.S these are corrections i'm making

well, the parents might have more than one kid in college during year 05-06. one or both of them (the 'rents) might also be in college... so the two numbers won't b the same.

okay, I live with both my parents and they both have full time jobs, I have one 12-year old sister that lives with us, and a brother thats at college in another state.

Would that be
5 total house hold members

and

2 in college for 2005-2006

for both parents and student's section?

chaujun - unless you are married or have a child I believe that under student you would say 0.

The questions under the student section about HH size and # in College are only for Independent Students, while the questions under parent info are for Dependent students. Remember, anyone who goes to college can fill out this form, so the student section should only be completed by graduate students, married students, over 24, have a child, US veteran, orphan, or ward of the court.
