FAFSA question..?

This question might sound utterly devoid of thought..but..

If I have rec'd. a full tuition scholarship (therefore still having to foot the bill for room+board+expenses, approx. $8,000-$10,000) to a University I've applied to, is it adventageous for me to actually file the FAFSA for that school? I am certain I won't qualify for any institutional or federal need-based aid with the tuition already paid for, as my parents are financially stable and I'm their only child.

More simply, what I am asking is will I be penalized in any way for filing the FAFSA for 6 schools but not #7? I would just add Pitt as a recipient for the FAFSA info, but the process is more difficult (although not much) if you have greater than 6 recipients.

Thanks for your help :)

Since you're already filling out the FAFSA, I'd go ahead and take the extra step of including your scholarship school (even if it's the seventh school -- it just requires you to edit the FAFSA online and resend it, an easy step). You might qualify for some work study or loans which help out on the non-tuition costs.

Ask the school. You can send the FAFSA to more than 6 schools. Look at the FAQs and they will show you how.

No you shouldn't jeopardize your scholarship in any way. There may however be other sources of funds available to you if you file. Make sure you include all schools.
