For those of you who applied for financial aid and already submitted your FAFSA, how do you make sure/double check that each UC campuses has received your data?

I submitted my FAFSA in early February and got my SAR that indicated my FAFSA has been processed

Out of all the UC's that I applied to, only UCI has a website that I could go online to check my financial aid status and make sure that they have received my FAFSA or any additional documents needed

Also, none of the UC campuses had sent me any e-mail or mail except UCI to indicate that they have received my FAFSA

So I'm wondering do they have different policies or they only notify you your financial aid information after you're admitted (or after March 2nd)?

(MOD, feel free to move this thread if you think this does not belong to this forum, thanks!)

I too only received an e-mail from UCI linking me to their financial aid site. I don't think many mistakes are made in the forwarding of your financial aid information to campuses after filing FAFSA.

I suspect that most of the financial aid packages that you will be eligible for per specific UC campuses will come out AFTER admissions decisions which is why you would not get confirmation from the more competitive UCs, whereas UCI, which is less competitive, might have more time on their hands to inform you of their receipt of your financial aid information.

So I applied to 5 UC's and for some reason, under "College of Attendance", it only displays one UC school that I applied to (which is UC Irvine)...

My conjecture is that they are displaying solely the first college listed on the FAFSA and that this isn't indicative of any errors, as on mine it says "College of Attendance: UCSD" and I applied to several others as well.

just to be clear, if your school automatically verifies GPA, all you have to do to apply for Cal Grants is to submit a FAFSA worksheet.. right?

i spent a lot of today making sure that this was the case, but each of the four people i spoke with today had this transparent doubt written all over their faces when answering me. if there are decent, knowledgeable staff members at UC Pierce, i've yet to meet one.

Yes, they are supposed to AUTOMATICALLY send them without you doing anything (this is the case at most schools). Just make sure they have some sort of confirmation for you.

I'll copy and paste the e-mail from the financial aid adviser at my school.

"We will automatically send your GPA as long as you have 16 degree applicable units completed. AND your 09-10 FAFSA is submitted by March 2nd."

If you never had Cal Grant before your GPA is not automatically sent. I know my CC did not do this since I never had Cal Grant.

If you applied Cal Grant when you were in high school but you attended a CC instead and you got your Cal Grant held until you transfer to a 4 year insitution then you should be fine.

The best way is to check the Cal Grant site or call them to see if your GPA is in or not.

AwakenZero, I thought CC automatically send out GPA form to the commission if you have enough units no matter you applied to Cal Grant before or not though

anyone can confirm, thanks!

Since my school told me that they were going to upload my GPA form on February 23rd, but the status of my WebGrants still shows that the commission has not received my GPA yet

I'm kind of worried whether the school has not uploaded my GPA yet or the commission has not updated my status!?

CALgrant? Can some1 explain to me what exactly that is and how I apply for it? Finishing up my last semester at a CC in hopes of heading to LA cuz frankly UCB sucks.

Cgee, I had to do the GPA form myself and send it to the commission. My CC did not submit my GPA.

Did your CC tell you that they were sending the GPA of every student on campus to the commission? You can call the commission to ask generally how long it takes to process new information coming in.

AwakenZero, my CC is doing the same thing as nickthecoolest stated above: "We will automatically send your GPA as long as you have 16 degree applicable units completed."

My guess is that the WebGrant website did not update their info frequently so that's probably why it shows "not received" in my case...
